Terms of Service
Last updated: August 8, 2026
Canadian Automotive Reality Financial Inc.
The terms that govern access to and use of CARF Dealer Intelligence, including its Google, YouTube, Meta, Facebook, Messenger, and connected dealer integrations.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of CARF Dealer Intelligence, operated by Canadian Automotive Reality Financial Inc. (“CARF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, accessing the platform, connecting a third-party service, or using a CARF feature, you agree to these Terms and the CARF Privacy Policy.
If you use CARF on behalf of a dealership, corporation, partnership, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account and Dealer Authority
You must provide accurate account and dealership information and keep it current.
You are responsible for:
- Protecting your login credentials.
- Controlling staff access and permissions.
- Removing access for staff who are no longer authorized.
- Maintaining accurate inventory, pricing, dealership, contact, and financing information.
- Reviewing activities performed through your account.
- Promptly notifying CARF of suspected unauthorized access.
You may connect only third-party accounts, Pages, channels, listings, and business assets that you own or are expressly authorized to manage.
3. Third-Party Integrations
CARF may allow users to connect services operated by third parties, including Google, YouTube, Meta, Facebook, Messenger, advertising services, vehicle marketplaces, lenders, warranty providers, payment processors, and other dealer service providers.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms, policies, permissions, availability, and technical limitations.
CARF does not own or control those services and cannot guarantee that a third-party integration will remain available, uninterrupted, or unchanged.
4. YouTube Integration
CARF’s YouTube integration allows an authorized dealership user to connect a YouTube channel and upload dealer-selected videos.
By using CARF Dealer Intelligence’s YouTube integration, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
You also agree to comply with applicable YouTube policies, including the YouTube Community Guidelines and copyright requirements.
Before uploading content through CARF, you certify that:
- You own the content or have all permissions, releases, licences, and rights required to upload and publish it.
- The content does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- The content complies with the YouTube Community Guidelines.
- The title, description, pricing, vehicle information, claims, and other submitted information are accurate.
- You have connected the correct YouTube channel.
- You have reviewed and approved the visibility setting saved for your connected channel.
- The content is not made for children. Videos uploaded through CARF are submitted to YouTube as content that is not made for children, and you are responsible for correcting that setting in YouTube Studio if it does not apply to your video.
- You authorize CARF to perform the specific upload you have initiated or confirmed.
CARF will not intentionally upload content without an authorized user initiating or expressly approving the action.
You remain responsible for:
- The video and information uploaded to YouTube.
- The channel selected.
- Compliance with YouTube rules.
- The selected visibility status.
- Responses to copyright claims, policy actions, or other YouTube notices.
- Removing or correcting content where required.
Disconnecting YouTube from CARF prevents future authorized access by CARF but does not automatically delete videos or information already stored by YouTube.
To delete content stored by YouTube, use YouTube Studio, YouTube, or another application authorized to delete that content.
5. Meta, Facebook, Messenger, and Marketplace Inquiry Integrations
CARF may allow a dealership to connect a Facebook Page and supported Meta messaging or inquiry services.
You may connect only a Facebook Page, business account, listing, advertisement, or other Meta asset that you are authorized to manage.
You authorize CARF to:
- Receive supported messages and webhook events delivered by Meta.
- Display those communications to authorized dealer staff.
- Use approved dealership and inventory information to assist with responses.
- Prepare suggested replies for your staff to review.
- Route relevant conversations and contact details into the dealer’s CARF lead-management tools.
CARF’s Meta integration currently receives messages and prepares suggested replies for review. It does not deliver replies through the connected Facebook Page. If CARF later enables reply delivery or an automated chatbot response, these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated before that feature is made available.
Use of the Meta integration is subject to applicable Meta terms, policies, Messenger requirements, Community Standards, and technical limitations.
Meta Platform Terms: https://developers.facebook.com/terms/
Meta Community Standards: https://transparency.meta.com/policies/community-standards/
You must not use CARF or a connected Meta service to:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages or spam.
- Mislead or impersonate another person or business.
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against a person.
- Send unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive content.
- Circumvent Meta messaging restrictions.
- Collect information for an unrelated purpose.
- Sell or transfer conversation data to a data broker.
- Make prohibited automated decisions about credit, lending, insurance, or another regulated service.
- Request sensitive personal information where it is not reasonably required.
- Violate Meta’s terms, policies, or applicable law.
CARF can only receive Marketplace or related inquiry information where Meta makes that information available to the connected Page or approved application. CARF does not guarantee access to every Marketplace conversation, listing, or feature.
6. AI-Assisted Responses
Some CARF features may use artificial intelligence to prepare descriptions, recommendations, summaries, or suggested responses.
AI-generated content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a particular transaction.
Dealers are responsible for:
- Reviewing their configuration of any AI-assisted feature.
- Maintaining accurate inventory and dealership information.
- Monitoring conversations.
- Reviewing suggested replies before using them.
- Correcting inaccurate statements.
- Handling conversations where human assistance is required.
- Ensuring that representations made to customers comply with applicable consumer-protection, advertising, financing, and automotive laws.
An AI response is a dealer communication tool and does not replace professional legal, credit, financing, insurance, mechanical, or regulatory advice.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to CARF.
You grant CARF a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, format, transmit, display, and otherwise use the content only as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the services you request.
- Operate dealer websites and applications.
- Publish content to third-party platforms you authorize.
- Generate approved marketing materials.
- Secure, troubleshoot, and support the platform.
- Comply with legal obligations.
You represent that you have the legal right to provide and use all submitted content.
8. Acceptable Use
You must not:
- Use CARF unlawfully.
- Attempt unauthorized access.
- Interfere with platform security.
- Upload malware or harmful code.
- Access another dealer’s information without authorization.
- Submit false, misleading, discriminatory, or fraudulent information.
- Violate intellectual-property or privacy rights.
- Abuse Google, YouTube, Meta, Facebook, Messenger, or another connected service.
- Use CARF to create artificial views, likes, comments, subscriptions, engagement, or other prohibited platform activity.
- Use automated tools to evade a third-party platform’s limits or review process.
- Resell access to CARF or third-party data unless expressly authorized in writing.
- Reverse engineer or misuse the platform except where applicable law expressly permits it.
9. Privacy
Use of CARF is subject to the CARF Privacy Policy: https://www.carfii.com/privacy-policy/
Information about disconnecting integrations and requesting deletion is available at: https://www.carfii.com/data-deletion/
10. Service Schedule and Service Data Sharing
When a participating dealership uses CARF Parts & Service, a delivered vehicle may be enrolled in the Service Schedule feature. The feature helps the customer and originating dealership understand recommended maintenance, record customer-provided updates, and keep track of upcoming service.
The Service Schedule feature may use:
- Customer, dealership, deal, and vehicle identifiers needed to connect the correct customer with the correct vehicle.
- Vehicle year, make, model, trim, VIN, delivery date, and the odometer recorded when the vehicle was delivered.
- Manufacturer maintenance information, dealer adjustments, and CARF-labelled fallback recommendations when a validated manufacturer schedule is not available.
- Odometer updates and service-completion details the customer chooses to provide, including completion date, distance, location category, and notes.
Your choice
CARF asks the customer before enabling service tracking and reminder communications. Nothing is pre-selected. A customer may decline, change notification channels, or withdraw consent later. Choosing “Not now” prevents service tracking and reminder messages; the recommended schedule may remain available for the customer to view.
Sharing with the originating dealership and trusted partners
If the customer enables sharing with the originating dealership, CARF may make the service schedule and customer-shared updates available to that dealership for service follow-up, appointment assistance, work-order preparation, and related dealership service support.
If the customer separately enables sharing with trusted partners, those partners may include authorized dealerships or service facilities and technology or service providers acting for CARF or the originating dealership. Sharing is limited to information reasonably necessary to provide the requested service-schedule, reminder, booking, or service-support function. CARF does not transmit Service Schedule data to a trusted-partner integration merely because the preference is stored; a partner-sharing integration must also be identified, configured, and active.
Schedule limitations and ownership
Service schedules are guidance and may include researched or clearly labelled fallback recommendations. Customers should confirm maintenance requirements with the vehicle manufacturer, owner manual, or qualified service facility. Ending ownership stops future reminders for that customer-vehicle relationship, and a later owner does not receive the prior owner’s completion history.
Additional information about access, retention, correction, withdrawal, and deletion is available in the CARF Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page.
11. Availability and Changes
CARF may update, improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue features.
Third-party platforms may change their APIs, permissions, quotas, terms, review requirements, or availability without notice to CARF.
CARF does not guarantee that a particular third-party integration will always operate or remain approved.
12. Suspension and Termination
CARF may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to:
- Protect the platform or its users.
- Investigate suspected misuse.
- Comply with law or a third-party platform requirement.
- Respond to non-payment where applicable.
- Prevent fraud, security threats, or unauthorized access.
- Address a material breach of these Terms.
A dealer may disconnect an integration through the connection controls available in CARF, or by contacting CARF as described on the Data Deletion page.
Termination does not automatically delete content previously transmitted to a third-party service.
13. Disclaimers
CARF provides its services on an “as available” basis.
To the extent permitted by law, CARF does not guarantee that:
- The platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Third-party integrations will remain available.
- AI-generated information will always be accurate.
- A message will always be delivered.
- An uploaded video will be approved, processed, displayed, or remain available on YouTube.
- A Facebook, Messenger, or Marketplace inquiry will always be available to CARF.
- A third-party platform will not restrict, suspend, reject, or remove content or access.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, CARF will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Use of or inability to use the platform.
- Third-party service interruption.
- Dealer-provided content.
- AI-generated content.
- Messages, leads, uploads, or communications sent through an authorized integration.
- A third-party platform’s restriction, removal, suspension, or policy decision.
Any contractual limitation already contained in a signed agreement between CARF and the dealer will continue to apply.
15. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, the dealer agrees to defend and indemnify CARF against third-party claims arising from:
- Content supplied by the dealer.
- Unauthorized use of a third-party account.
- A violation of these Terms.
- A violation of copyright, privacy, advertising, consumer-protection, or platform rules.
- False or misleading vehicle, financing, warranty, pricing, or dealership information.
16. Governing Agreements
Where a dealer has entered into a separate written agreement with CARF, that agreement will govern in the event of a direct conflict with these public Terms.
17. Changes to These Terms
CARF may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, platform requirements, technology, or services.
The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
